Join Transition South Barwon’s upcoming event, RetroSuburbia: action, resilience & future visions featuring permaculture co-originator, David Holmgren on 27 October beginning @10.45 am at Grovedale Neighbourhood House, 45 Heyers Rd, Grovedale.
Holmgren’s exciting new book, RetroSuburbia promotes household food growing, low-tech retrofitting ideas and the neighbourhood non-monetary activities of exchange, gift and reciprocity.
RetroSuburbia is a bold manifesto that challenges many orthodoxies, as well a manual on how to live this change. At this event, Holmgren will advance permaculture ideas as a framework for applying vital retrofits to our homes, gardens and, most fundamentally, our behaviours. In particular, he will highlight the importance of household food growing and shared neighbourhood activity in our everyday lives. A local house tour to a retrofitted property, lead by the residents with commentary from Holmgren, will showcase these ideas in action.
Come along to be part of Holmgren’s remarkably insightful, thought-provoking vision for a resilient and life enhancing sustainable future.
